The Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD offers very good optical performance for a reasonable price. Despite the chunky size, the lens isn't overly heavy and the moisture resistant construction should provide some peace of mind when shooting outdoors in changeable conditions. Overall, the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 offers amazing performance at a very good price. Flare may be more of an issue than with manufacturer's own lenses, but so long as you take care in situations that may cause problems, this lens will reward you with sharp, contrasty images and money left for other things. The performance at f/1.4 is amazing for a lens that costs under £400, and this is with good build quality, low CA, distortion and falloff that is typical of lenses with a fast aperture like this. If you're looking for a sharp, moderate wide angle with a fast aperture and can live with focusing manually, you needn't look further. This combination of price versus performance will almost certainly win many fans for this lens, even despite its large size and weight for a 50mm optic. Build quality is excellent and fast, silent focusing is the cherry on the cake. The Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens offers outstanding sharpness, virtually no CA or distortion and when compared to similar alternatives, it's a bit of a bargain. Sigma has created a lens which performs well in terms of sharpness and other optical attributes, for a fairly reasonable price. Please note, the Sony A-mount version of this lens does not feature VC, as Sony A-mount cameras feature built-in image stabilisation. Bokeh looks pleasing and you also get a 5-year warranty when you purchase this lens which is reassuring. Yes, it offers a slightly slower maximum aperture of f/1.8 (many 85mm lenses are f/1.4 designs) but if you don't have a definite need for an f/1.4 then the Tamron 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD delivers superb quality at a more reasonable price level. The price is reasonable and actually, there's very little not to like about this lens. The Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD performs impeccably and handles really well. There does remain the possibility of picking up the previous model at a much lower price but that is always a dilemma when lenses are updated. CA is well controlled, there's virtually no distortion in images and the lens is very resistant to flare. The Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD offers superb sharpness, fast and silent AF, and beautiful bokeh. This one takes performance to a new peak and is very comfortable to use. The 90mm from Tamron has always had a good reputation and the latest version of this reliable lens doesn't disappoint.
